Yesterday we made the decision to ease Sym over the bridge.
He had begun to experience severe breathing difficulties and was only
able to sleep for short periods.
Julie and I held him as he fell asleep.
He is with his sister, Sox, now and is free from pain and discomfort.

ReplyDeleteMy heart breaks for you. I know how important Sym was to you and what a hole he leaves in your life. I realize there isn't anything I could say in the way of comfort, but Sym was blessed to have you as a life partner. Rest in peace, noble Sym.
ReplyDeleteR.I.P. Sym.
ReplyDeletePoor old Sym - R.I.P. - you gave him every chance and the best life possible!

I am glad we can do that, ease them out of pain and the struggle for breath. I held Benno until he was gone. Two weeks later and we talk about him all the time. I stopped crying but miss him dreadfully.
I know exactly how you feel as, I am sure, you know how I feel.
I am so sorry for your loss. Hugs from Alabama...
ReplyDeleteVery sorrowful.
ReplyDeleteI lost my Irish Wolfhound, Lucy, to the same terrible cancer several years ago and it still hurts. We love them so much and get so much love back. I'm so sorry.
ReplyDeleteIt is never easy to let go, even when you KNOW it is to prevent them suffering. Sym was, is and always will be ... My handsome pup!
DeleteThank you all for your kind words and thoughts.
